Recycle Car Batteries
Posted by Jo in Cars, tips (November 28, 2007 at 5:54 am)Car battery gives life to an automotive, no matter how up to date your engine and how gorgeous you car is, it will never run without its battery. Car batteries are really important but can be very dangerous if not properly disposed. Old car batteries can still go along way if they are properly disposed especially recycled. Recycling them is actually the best thing to do when your old car battery needs replacement.
This environmental action is not well practice among many countries despite its great help in our environment. In UK almost 90% of old car batteries are recycled. As you know, car batteries contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment if not properly disposed. If the car battery casing decays, the chemical inside it will leak into the ground and contributes to the water pollution damaging our environment.
When getting rid of your old car batteries never mix them with household garbage. They should be brought to garage, scrap metal facilities and those recycling centers accepting old car batteries; they know how to properly dispose it. You might think that this is a small thing compared to our already big environmental problem, true but this small act of recycling our old car batteries can save our lives and make our world a safe place to travel with your car.
