One of the best known research firms in the United States, Autodata, has come up with the final numbers for the total auto sales in the country for last month, November. According to the research firm, the total numbers have gone down as compared to the numbers for the same month a year earlier. There was a difference of 1.6 per cent and that is equivalent to 1.179 million units less.

Experts in the industry are looking as per why auto sales figures have become such. One of them have declared that one of the possible factors which has affected the numbers would be the value of the dollar which has gone down for some weeks as well as some of the problems that the whole US economy is facing and tackling at present. Also, experts say that more and more consumers are focusing on housing than on vehicle and transportation. Of course, such a decision on where consumers are allocating their resources have gone on and affected the way they consume automotive products. The rising prices of gasoline and oil is also pointed as one of the major factors affected auto sales in the United States for this year’s November.

The General Motors Corporation is the leading automaker in the country and they have reported a November auto sales report that reflected their sales to have declined by 11 per cent. The company’s spokesperson has informed the public that such may be the effect of lesser people opting for new cars and there are also lesser consumers renting out vehicles.

Industry analysts have come to believe that those in the auto sales business should better be able to brace themselves for they see that next year is not going to be any different. More and more people are still going to be concerned about economic woes and would much likely want to save their earnings than splurge them on new vehicles.
