Basics Of Car Battery

Car battery is an electrochemical device that changes the chemical energy stored in the battery into electrical energy, starting the car engine and allow car’s accessories such as lights, car radio and air-con to function. When the ignition is switched on the battery will convert the chemical energy stored in the battery to electricity by passing through the wires that are connected to the car parts that needs energy.
Car battery may come in different shapes and sizes but all of them are rechargeable and functions to give power to the automobile. Car battery can come to a stage of discharge that is why it is rechargeable. Discharge stage may occur when headlights, air-con and other car accessories are accidentally left on. When in discharge stage, one simply needs to recharge it by bringing it to battery tender or charge it through simply turning on the ignition but it will not completely recharge the battery with the energy it needs, it will be just enough to supplement lost energy. A car battery that is well maintained may serve up to 3 years or so and needs changing after that. If you want your battery to last, take care of it well.
