Car racing is one of the world’s popular sports nowadays, and champ cars are one of the popular cars used in car racing. Champ car which is an abbreviation for “Championship Car” is the race car used in the Champ Car World Series. Posted by Jo in Concept Cars (December 28, 2007 at 5:00 am)

Modified cars have become a popular hobby and many car owners now prefer to modify their car for its improvement. Modified cars are increasing in numbers that s why many insurance companies have seen the need of modified cars for insurance just like any other cars. Modified cars need to be insured with an insurance suited for a modified car. Modified cars are not new cars and so their value is different from it even from used cars.

It is hard to find quality cover for modified cars, often modified car owners will just have to settle for what the insurance company can give even if it is not a quality cover. But there are insurance companies that specialize in modified cars. Getting insurance from these companies will give modified cars quality cover yet at affordable prices. The cost of the modified car insurance will highly depend on the parts that were modified in the car as well as the age of the driver.

Funny cars are cars made for drag racing, and this is the world’s most extreme motor sports. Though funny cars are made for drag racing, yet not all funny cars can actually participate in a drag race especially the one made by NHRA; they have strict guidelines of the kind of funny cars that can join their drag race. Other than its basic safety equipments such as the ballistic blanket which covers the areas that are explosives and the twin – parachute that stabilizes and slow down the car when it crosses the finish line; there are other rules that funny cars has to comply especially when it comes to engine to participate in the race.
For funny cars to participate in BHRA drag race the engine must only be V-8s at 90 degrees with two valves per cylinder and superchargers are Roots type of 19 X 11.25 inches. Cars Made To Race

Posted by Jo in Concept Cars ( at 10:01 pm)

There is something faster than speeding street cars, they are the funny cars. The first funny cars were built in the middle of 1960s; the rear wheels had been moved forward on the chassis and its rear tires were over sized than the stock which is why it is named “funny”. They were built with that look for these cars to run very fast. I don’t think they are funny; they are actually amazing cars with very fast performance. Funny cars are cars made for drag racing; they have forward – mounted engines and have bodies that are carbon fiber. They are considered as top fuel dragster.

Funny cars speed performance is due to is unique fuel system, which is a mixture of nitro methane and alcohol where the fire or heavy smoke in the rear is from. Funny cars have 9000 horsepower and consume 57 liters of fuel for ¼ mile run in 4.7 seconds. Funny cars have win parachutes that stabilizes and slow down the once it crosses the finish line, this is also for the safety of the driver, spectators and people in the track. Funny cars are very fast, brakes and twin parachutes helps to stop it fast once it passed the finish line.

Posted by Jo in Concept Cars ( at 3:48 am)

For sure, every auto enthusiast is dreaming to have one of these or at least drive it even for awhile. What makes supercars different from other cars that makes every one crave for it. The term supecar refers to a high-end exotic or sports cars; it is super because of its superiority in all aspect of the car – performance and design making them the fastest and the most beautiful car in the world. Supercars do not hold the crown or title, car manufacturers are always on search for ways to make their cars supreme among the rest.
What makes them standout from the rest? Their speed, though they are not really made for race tracks but on road, supercars have high acceleration they have a speed of 63 to 200 mph. They can speed up fast and has good handling dynamics because of how their body is built; supercars have high engine power yet low vehicle mass. Because of its speed and good handling dynamics, their brakes are powerful and maximum road gripping ability. Powerful brakes are needed to slow cars traveling at high speeds and resist brake fade.

Some of supercars we have are Bugatti Veyron 16.4, Lamborghini Reventon, Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren, Enzo Ferrari, Pagan Zonda, Porsche Carrera GT, SSC Ultimate Aero RR, Ferrari 599 GTB Firoano, Jaguar XJ220, Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Murcielago and there are still some that I missed.

Posted by Jo in Concept Cars (December 20, 2007 at 3:04 am)

There is just something about cars everyone loves, be it real cars or model cars. Toy cars are not more model cars; models cars have defined parts and engine which toy cars do not have. Model cars are small representation of an automobile, where parts and engines are exactly represented. Model cars have been the hobby of many car enthusiasts, they like forming it from a kit. Great kits for model cars are those that have a very detailed exterior parts and interior parts to construct.

Model cars can be sports cars, luxury cars, old cars, trucks, buses, ships and armored cars. Model cars are available in materials of plastic, die – cast, resin and wood. Though model cars occasionally are for display only they can be played with too, especially those powered model cars like the RC cars and other more. Some model cars are collector items or they have high value in the market. Many would see model cars as just some kind of any toy; but for a car enthusiast or model car hobbyist, model cars are a bunch of joy in small package.
